May 2024, I had the pleasure of photographing a delightful couple during their holiday visit to Tokyo. Our session took us to three iconic locations: Sumida Park riverside during the golden hour, the historic Sensoji Temple at twilight, and the vibrant Hoppy Dori Street at night. Each location provided a unique backdrop, making their photo session truly unforgettable. Here’s a look back at this romantic Tokyo photo session.

Sumida Park Riverside at Golden hour


We began our session at Sumida Park, strategically timed to capture the enchanting golden hour light. The park’s serene environment, coupled with the stunning view of the Tokyo Skytree, created the perfect setting for romantic portraits.

Sensoji Temple at Twilight


As the sun began to set, we moved to Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. The temple’s grand architecture and historical significance made it an ideal location for capturing the essence of traditional Tokyo.

Illuminated Grandeur: The temple’s illumination at twilight cast a magical glow, enhancing the romantic atmosphere of the session.

Cultural Elements: The couple explored the temple grounds, stopping by the incense burner and drawing Omikuji fortune slips, which added a cultural touch to their photos.

Kaminarimon Gate: The iconic Kaminarimon Gate provided a majestic entrance to the temple, perfect for wide shots capturing the full splendor of Sensoji. We could manage to take some beautiful shots at the crossing with Skytree in background

Hoppy Dori Street at night


We concluded our session at Hoppy Dori Street, a bustling area known for its lively nightlife. The vibrant lights and energetic atmosphere of the street offered a dynamic contrast to the serenity of our earlier locations.
